Jim and I (Dan Sullivan) have surveyed some of the area. This morning we had a decent trek (small hike) through some property off of 664 – 17 acres, currently being used as a laser-tag site. It is likely outside our price-range, but it gave us a sense of what to expect. The second property we looked at, further north-east, was beautiful and not far from what we think we can fund for our first site. 22 acres (roughly), a nice brick house and other features. At Home in the Hocking Hills

Today the Resilient Ways Foundation team of Dan Sullivan and Jim Davidson arrived in the Hocking Hills. It is excellent country, well positioned geographically and demographically, and already bears a few dozen tourist destinations. People seem comfortable coming here from many states around the country. We saw licence tags from Virginia, New York, and other states. It is also a good spot for local vacationers, who seem to know and love the area. We found many cabins and lodges that were “full up” for the weekend. Getting to know and trust new people is tough. As anarchists we must be “bigger heart’d” than most – we have to be willing to trust … not in stupid ways, but also not in cold-heart’d cynical ways.
